Personal Injury and Car Accident Lawyer in Utah

Car accident again in West Jordan

By on Jun 26, 2018 in blog, Car Accidents, Personal Injury |

A little while ago, I was contacted by a former client who was involved in another car accident in West Jordan, Utah. The client wondered if he would have a case since he was injured in a prior car crash. I explained to him that he would indeed have a case, especially since his injuries from the prior crash have healed. Even if he was still treating from the first car accident, I could still help him with the second car accident in West Jordan.

Each driver from each accident is responsible for the new injuries and damages done to my client.  Also, under Utah law, a responsible driver must take the other party, as the party is, even if that person is more susceptible to injury than a normal person. This is true, even if the person is more susceptible to injury in a car accident from a prior injury. For example, if your back was injured in a prior car accident, and then injured again in a later accident and your injuries from the second accident were worse because of the prior car accident, the driver in the second accident is responsible for all new injuries to your back.

Just like my client from West Jordan, do not be afraid to contact an attorney if you have had multiple car accidents and injuries over the years. In fact, it doesn’t even matter if you caused some of the prior car accidents, as long as the current car accident was not your fault. Unfortunately, due to the high number of car accidents, many of us will be involved in a car accident in our lifetimes. Many of us will also be involved in several car accidents in our lifetimes, so this situation is not uncommon.  It also does not matter where the accident took place, whether your accident was in Salt Lake City, West Jordan, West Valley City, Magna, Kearns, or Sugarhouse.

Call us today. We would love to help you on your car accident case. 801-738-9999
